Jax is grieving the death of his sister, Shiloh Hunter, which occurred during the events of the previous film. At the suggestion of Shiloh's friend, Luce, the two decide to embark on a daring wooden walkway adventure on Mount Kwan-in in Thailand to celebrate Shiloh's life. However, they soon find themselves trapped at a height of over 3,000 feet after a rockslide and tsunami, and they are forced to work together to survive.
