After twelve years living in the port city of Orphalese, a wise man is finally ready to return to his homeland. Those who come to see him off ask him to speak to them one last time, to share his wisdom and truth. They ask him questions about love, marriage, children, laws, freedom, work, suffering, and death.

Thus, Ermiş begins to speak with them.

Halil Cibran's timeless work is being adapted for the stage, utilizing the storytelling techniques of the modern oral tradition.

Throughout the performance, the storyteller embodies thirty different characters, exploring various facets of the human psyche. It's as if an old chest, long sealed shut, is slowly being opened; gradually revealing the complexities of human emotions, sorrows, memories, and ethical and moral values, expanding our understanding of them.

Ermiş reveals a different voice, a different story, and a different secret in each episode. Sometimes he offers advice, sometimes he makes a confession, and sometimes he poses questions that people have been avoiding asking themselves for years.

For over a century, Ermiş has reached millions of readers, and in this adaptation, it brings not only the words of a wise figure to the stage, but also the collective memory of humanity. Blending poetry and theater, storytelling and performance, ERMİŞ invites the audience on a journey that is both ancient and incredibly relevant.
