The Catcher in the Rye, Apparently

Holden is a lying and deceitful boy who complains that everyone around him is a liar and a fraud. He leaves Pencey, the last school he was expelled from, taking his red hat with him, and goes to New York, where he can have a good time. This escape from his responsibilities and family turns into a breakdown with the first heavy blow to his stomach. Holden, a teenager who could not fit in with his surroundings, will begin to become an individual who has taken the first step into his own coming-of-age story.

Inspired by J.D. Salinger’s contemporary classic novel The Catcher in the Rye, the play The Catcher in the Rye, Apparently is an entertaining one-person performance featuring original compositions performed with live music.
