Çalıkuşu

The novel Çalıkuşu, written by Reşat Nuri Güntekin, tells the story of the growth, maturation, and finding of great love of the young, childlike Feride (Çalıkuşu), who, after learning that her fiancé cheated on her on their wedding day, flees from Istanbul to Anatolia and tries to build a life of her own by working as a teacher for the sake of her ideals.
