The Atelier Modern seminar program, "Concepts and Dynamics of Contemporary Art," is designed for participants who want to understand contemporary art, analyze, and interpret contemporary art productions. The program focuses on the evolving language of art and the changing dynamics of the art world, spanning from the late 19th century to the present day. Examining the fundamental themes and concepts of contemporary art in the context of social interactions, political developments, and technological transformations, the program explores various forms of expression, theoretical approaches, and production practices.

Accompanying the seminars. Gallery Encounters. The event invites participants to engage directly with the works in the Istanbul Modern Collection, guided by museum expert and art historian Dicle Saltan. The gatherings, which involve discussions of the topics and themes explored in seminars focusing on selected works, bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practice of art analysis. The program, structured around themes such as "Abstract Art," "Urbanization, Migration, and the Figure," "Identity," "War and Destruction," and "Representation and Narrative," offers participants the opportunity to examine and interpret the collection exhibition from different perspectives.

Atölye Modern's... new seminar. "Modern Art: Movements, Ideas, Artists"This work examines the emergence, transformation, and institutionalization of modern art, spanning the period from the mid-19th century to the late 20th century. "Concepts and Dynamics of Contemporary Art" The program focuses on the evolving language of contemporary art, its current production methods, and the fundamental concepts that shape the art world, spanning from the late 20th century to the present day. Conducted by leading art historians, the program offers participants the opportunity to evaluate art within its historical, theoretical, and contemporary contexts, providing them with a strong and multifaceted perspective.
Both programs consist of 10 seminar courses and 5 gallery visits.
Accompanying the seminar programs: Gallery Encounters.These gatherings, a significant addition to the new season at Atölye Modern, are held in conjunction with the Istanbul Modern collection exhibition and feature a museum expert. During these sessions, participants have the opportunity to examine, discuss, and interpret the topics and concepts presented in the seminars through selected artworks. Structured around five different themes, the Gallery Gatherings invite participants to engage directly with the artworks, fostering a strong connection between theoretical knowledge and the practice of art analysis, thereby enriching the learning experience.
Participants who complete the Atelier Modern seminars will receive a certificate of completion.
