Basarkus'un Muhteşem Hikayesi
BasarKus's magnificent performance is a playful and virtuoso display that bridges the gap between dance and contemporary circus.
Created by choreographer Sylvère Lamotte, the piece presents a dynamic stage language where two artists, one an acrobat and the other a juggler, constantly create connections between their respective disciplines. Initially moving as a single entity, these two artists create BasarKus, a being with two heads, multiple arms, and numerous legs.
As the story progresses, this hybrid being begins to transform. On their journey together, they gradually separate, discovering their own identities while also learning from each other. Through movement, rhythm, and play, they constantly create new possibilities.
This performance, built upon the themes of encountering the "other" and coexisting, transforms into a poetic narrative of growth and self-discovery, much like a child's process of exploring their own body and boundaries.
Previously shown in: Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Scotland, Switzerland, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania, Uruguay, Venezuela.
With the valuable contributions of the French Cultural Center.
With the support of the "Teatroskop" program, initiated by the French Republic's Ministry of Culture and the French Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in collaboration with the Institut français.

"The Fabulous Story of BasarKus" is a playful and virtuosic duet that blends circus and dance.
Created by choreographer Sylvère Lamotte, the performance brings together an acrobat and a juggler who constantly build bridges between their respective disciplines, pushing the boundaries of their interaction. United into a single entity, they become BasarKus, a being with two heads, multiple arms, and numerous legs.
As the story progresses, this hybrid creature begins to transform. From one adventure to the next, the two individuals gradually drift apart, discovering their own identities while learning from each other. Through movement, rhythm, and playful innovation, they create ever-evolving combinations.
Exploring themes of identity, otherness, and coexistence, "The Fabulous Story of BasarKus" becomes a poetic ode to self-discovery, much like a child learning the boundaries of their own body and how to embrace the presence of another.
