Balmorhea
Texas-based experimental music group Balmorhea in Istanbul on October 16!
Texas instrumental experimental music group Balmorhea, which has gained a wide fan base in Türkiye with the track "Remembrance" featured on the soundtrack of the film ‘Delibal’, will meet Istanbul music lovers at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş on the evening of October 16, 2026, organized by Epifoni with support from %100 Müzik.
Founded in Austin in 2006 by Rob Lowe and Michael Muller, Balmorhea has earned worldwide acclaim for many years with its original instrumental sound inspired by post-rock, indie folk, jazz, and classical music. The group’s calm and emotional melodies have resonated in many different venues, from Gothic cathedrals to modern art museums, and from rock clubs to international festivals.
Balmorhea has shared the stage with acts such as Fleet Foxes, Mono, Tortoise, Bear in Heaven, Sharon Van Etten, Damien Jurado, and Here We Go Magic, and continues to constantly expand the boundaries of neo-classical instrumental music.
Released in 2025, The Trap (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) attracted attention in the music world as the soundtrack album the group created for Lena Headey’s first feature film. With its sounds woven from piano, vibraphone, atmospheric guitars, and analog synthesizers, the album carries Balmorhea’s sound into a cinematic dimension and deepens the group’s work in film music.
With its emotionally intense melodies, atmospheric structure, and powerful stage storytelling, Balmorhea’s Istanbul concert will be a special night offering music lovers a unique example of instrumental music.
