Building a reputable career takes a lifetime, but it can be destroyed with just one tweet.

The successful television journalist, Anna Kay, decides to leave her loveless marriage and pursue her passions, reaching the peak of her career. However, this personal decision quickly turns her into the target of a ruthless public shaming campaign that spreads rapidly on social media. The sexist bullying, online trolls, and relentless judgments, all under the hashtag #AnnaKRelationship, force Anna into the very position of being the subject of the news she was used to reporting.

Suzie Miller, a lawyer and writer known for internationally acclaimed plays like "Prima Facie" and "Inter Alia," has penned "Anna K.," which draws parallels between Tolstoy's work, "Anna Karenina," and today's digital world. In this modern tragedy, the sounds of trains carrying news blend with the noise of social media, blurring the lines between those who observe and those who are observed, those who report the news and those who become the news, and those who judge and those who are judged. As traditional gossip networks give way to social media tribunals, the pursuit of love, desire, and freedom for women once again comes at a heavy price.
