About Venue
Walking from Sıhhiye to Kızılay, look at the long stone facade on your left; it is the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, designed by Bruno Taut in 1937. It is the most important piece of early republican modernism on Atatürk Boulevard and Taut's last completed building in Turkey. The broad steps and the marble hall inside speak of the new capital's confidence. The Hittite Sun Disc monument stands beside it and Sıhhiye Square opposite; morning light is best for the facade.
