Çıkrıkçılar Slope.

About Venue
A historic trading street of roughly two hundred metres that climbs from Anafartalar Avenue in Ulus towards the foot of the Castle. Its name comes from the Ottoman-era artisans who spun Ankara goat mohair on spinning wheels (cikrik) here to weave sof cloth. It formed part of the Long Bazaar linking Ulus and Samanpazarı; the fire of 1916 badly damaged it together with the neighbouring Iplikciler and Canakcilar mosques, and it was rebuilt afterwards. Today its fabric, haberdashery, trousseau and wedding-wear shops make it one of Ankara's liveliest traditional shopping streets, and the coppersmiths' shops and workshops stand on the slope as well. The small triangular square at its foot is where the side bazaars of Saraçlar, Salman and Konya streets branch off.
