Aya Yorgi Manastırı (Büyükada)

On Büyükada's highest hill, this Greek Orthodox church continues a monastic tradition dating back to the 6th century and draws wish-makers of every faith. The steep stone path to the top takes 25–30 minutes; the garden at the summit overlooks the Marmara and the other islands. On 23 April thousands make the climb.
