About Venue
The walls right beside the Hacı Bayram Mosque carry one of the most famous Latin inscriptions in the world. Built between 25 and 20 BCE when Galatia became a Roman province, the temple holds the most complete surviving copy of Emperor Augustus's political testament, written in his own words; Latin on the entrance wall, the Greek translation on the outer side wall. Because the mosque was built against the temple, you see both from a single courtyard, one of the strangest and loveliest frames in Ankara.
