Ankara Garı ve Atatürk Konutu Demiryolları Müzesi

If you arrive by train, Ankara greets you with this 1937 station; Şekip Akalın's symmetrical stone front and tall waiting hall are among the best examples of early republican modernism. The old station house beside it served Atatürk as residence and headquarters during the War of Independence, and now holds a small railway museum and his private carriage. The high-speed rail terminal shares the site. Do not leave without stepping into the great hall to look at the ceiling and the clock tower.
