Embark on an unforgettable journey through the Golden Horn, the historical heart of Istanbul, and discover the city from a unique perspective, away from the crowds and at water level. This special kayaking tour is a safe and captivating activity designed for both travelers who want to explore the city and those who want to experience Istanbul in a new way. No prior kayaking or paddling experience is required.
With our certified guides, we aim to provide you with the safest and most enjoyable experience, tailored to the weather and wind conditions of the day. Before you enter the water, our expert team will provide a brief but comprehensive introduction to basic paddling techniques and safety information, ensuring you feel completely confident.
Depending on the wind and water conditions on that day, we will be carrying out one of the following two unique routes, which will offer you the most beautiful views of Istanbul:
1. Job & Nature Route: A peaceful course located on the calm waters of the Golden Horn, surrounded by nature and history.
Historical Feshane and Eyüpsultan Mosque: A historical and spiritual atmosphere rising along the coastline.
Pierre Loti Hill: An iconic hill offering a unique view of the Golden Horn from above.
Rabbit Island: Enjoy a peaceful ride around the natural islet, which is home to various animals such as rabbits, geese, and ducks.
2. Galata & Historic Peninsula Route: This panoramic and iconic route offers stunning views of Istanbul's iconic landmarks from a vantage point near the water level.
Golden Horn Shipyard: A glimpse into the historical fabric of one of the world's oldest and still-active shipyards.
The Bulgarian Iron Church (St. Stephen): This is a stunning example of architecture, being the only church in the world constructed entirely of cast iron.
The Greek Orthodox Lycée of Fanar: A magnificent building of red brick, rising majestically on the slopes overlooking the Golden Horn.
Historic Balat Houses: Colorful and nostalgic streets of Istanbul, lined along the coast.
Galata Tower & Galata Bridge: Enjoy the privilege of viewing one of the city's most iconic skylines from the water.
Throughout the journey, your professional guide will share the fascinating history and stories behind each site you visit, and will also guide you to the best spots for taking photos.
The calm and sheltered waters of the Golden Horn, combined with our routes that stay close to the shore, offer a comfortable and enjoyable kayaking experience for all participants aged 10 and above, even for those who are trying kayaking for the first time.
At the end of our tour, we will return to our starting point, where we can relax by the shore and share photos of this unique experience.
