"Şebbaz" is a grand theatrical production where the interplay of curtains and illusions, combined with light and shadow, masterfully blends the skillful performances of live actors. It's a bold, fantastical, and festive story of friendship, with characters and themes deeply rooted in the ancient traditions of this land.
"The shadow calls, and the story finds its voice in the embrace of light... 'Shab' means night. If the art of light belongs to the night, then the 'shabaz' is the one who showcases the art of shadow."

Respected Bey, a prominent and influential figure in the country, orders a Karagöz shadow puppet show to be performed for the circumcision ceremony of his grandson. The show features the "Dragon and Fish" play, performed by two childhood friends, Turna and Mehmet, who were both trained by the same Karagöz master but have been estranged for years. During the show, Respected Bey, exposed to the dragon's fiery breath, inadvertently reveals dangerous secrets to the audience, causing a major scandal. Whoever is responsible for damaging his reputation will pay the price. Now, both of these tricksters are on a blacklist. The two, facing serious trouble, are unsure what to do or where to turn; the vast city of Istanbul now feels like a prison to them. They find themselves caught in a desperate escape. As they flee, trying to discover who was behind the show that night, they are haunted by their past and their identities, which they cannot escape...

Masters and apprentices, oppressors and the oppressed, the wise and the hunchbacked, bathhouses and rooftops, the cowardly and the brave – all of creation, along with two tricksters, await you in the city of seven hills.
