Stefan Vögel's play, "Die Niere," which is the most frequently staged contemporary play in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, is making its Turkish premiere under the title "A Special Request."

A dinner. Two couples. And a single question that could change everything about their relationships: Would you donate a kidney?

The discovery that Zeynep needs a kidney transplant throws into disarray the delicate balance of relationships built on marriage, friendship, and sacrifice between two couples who have known each other for years.

A kidney donation issue quickly becomes a matter of calculating who loves whom, how much they are willing to sacrifice, and how valid promises made in good times are when things get tough.

Stefan Vögel's fast-paced, surprising, and sharp comedy explores the gap between the person we believe ourselves to be and the person who emerges during a real crisis, all with a witty and humorous approach.
