Addiction doesn't begin in a single day. It's often a gradual process that silently develops within the brain's reward system, a person's emotional world, and their search for belonging. Risky behaviors, particularly those that emerge during adolescence, are closely linked to the brain's developmental characteristics, impulsivity, identity formation, the need for belonging, and difficulties in emotional regulation. This seminar will explore the neurobiological foundations of addiction, early warning signs, common mistakes families make when intervening, protective parenting approaches, and current treatment methods. This program, which will integrate scientific data, clinical experiences, and a psychodynamic perspective, will provide a comprehensive understanding of addiction within the context of human development and psychological well-being, enabling parents and mental health professionals interested in the topic to recognize early risk factors and foster healthier relationships with their children.
